UK proposes laws to strengthen economic crime enforcement

UK politicians have tabled a new draft bill that increases the powers of authorities to root out financial crime and improve corporate transparency.

The bill, presented to Parliament on 1 March, proposes a raft of legislative changes to strengthen UK’s efforts to combat economic crime, including by giving the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) greater teeth by introducing strict liability for sanctions offences.
