Privilege disputes in the Netherlands can take over seven times longer to resolve than the timeframe set out by law, according to a report commissioned by the country’s Ministry of Justice.
A report published on 15 January revealed that it takes an average of over seven months from the initial filing of a privilege complaint before a final decision on the matter by the court, based on an analysis of 41 cases between 2014 and 2019.
