Brazil and the United States: Scandals, Briberies, Corruption and Other Crimes
/The world is a small place, but the internet is vast. No truer are those words than when considering the ways in which businesses grow and evolve on an international stage. Many dynamics come into play along with the many repercussions of bad choices or irresponsible business dealings. These are not always obvious, especially when doing business with companies or a government that has a less than stellar reputation from ethical, moral and fair perspectives. To be sure, corruption, bribery, money laundering and extortion are nothing new – and that is true regardless of the country in which one does business. The phenomenal growth of the Internet during recent years results in massive opportunities for business owners and would-be entrepreneurs. With an ever-shrinking world (but, an ever-growing cyber population), these crimes of bribery and corruption show a spectacular degree of the worst in human nature. From an American perspective, Brazil presents more than a few unique dynamics that are worth considering, including several simultaneous large corruption cases that are far beyond worrisome.
