Artikel: From ‘fake it till you make it’ towards building mutual trust in EAW proceedings: an account of the Aranyosi mechanism

In 1968 Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel blessed us with the song, ‘Fakin’ it’, from where the phrase ‘fake it till you make it’ is presumably derived, although to be fair the lyrics read the exact opposite: ‘And I know I’m fakin’ it, I’m not really makin’ it’. And this could encapsulate the story so far between mutual trust and the European Arrest Warrant (EAW). In the fashion of ‘fake it till you make it’, mutual trust was imposed upon national authorities as a mostly non-rebuttable presumption.
